INNOVATION STRATEGY'S SUSTAINABILITY PLEDGE
Our commitment
Scientists tell us that we have a limited window to make unprecedented headway in order to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial temperatures by 2050. As a company which prides itself on being at the forefront of innovative and future-oriented projects, Innovation Strategy is committed to being a sustainable and environmentally friendly business.
This means we are committed to:
-
Halving our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
-
Achieving net zero emissions before 2050
-
Providing updates on our progress
To achieve these goals, we will:
-
Incorporate environmental considerations into our business decisions.
-
Improve and monitor our own environmental performance.
-
Develop environmentally beneficial projects and improve the sustainability of our research activities.
-
Encourage our stakeholders to work with due consideration for the environment and support businesses in developing sustainable and innovative solutions.
-
Offset any carbon emissions our company is responsible for causing.
Our work so far
Low emission workplaces
Non-domestic buildings account for 12% of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK. However, we’ve always operated a hybrid work place, by combining remote working and in-office working, holding online meetings where possible and only attend in-person meetings where absolutely necessary. This means our energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions are far lower than traditional businesses whose workers are in offices all day long.
Paper-free working
While most companies are pushing for paper-free working, this is something we have been championing for years. Given that we mostly communicate with clients online, we try our very best to avoid printing materials and encourage our clients to do the same.
Installed Smart Meters
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, operating as efficiently as possible. We have therefore installed Smart Meters to take control of our business’ energy use and costs.
Switched to LED bulbs
Upgrading from conventional lighting to LED bulbs has helped us reduce our emissions. LED bulbs use less energy, last much longer and reduce maintenance requirements compared to regular bulbs,
Innovation programmes
We have worked on many projects to address issues linked to climate change. We have designed and delivered innovation programmes which support businesses in the development of innovative concepts to advance our environment further demonstrating our commitment to sustainability.
As we continue to work towards our commitments, we will share news on our achievements to decarbonise and become more sustainable.
